The heart of my practice:
To restore ancestral wisdom, grief literacy, trauma healing, and compassionate end-of-life care as vital and respected components of life.

To offer therapy, education, and end-of-life support that honors complexity, centers the nervous system and the sacred, and brings individuals, families, and communities back into relationship; with themselves, their stories, and one another.

Through a grief-informed, trauma-aware, and death-literate practice, I envision a world where we remember that grief is a natural reaction to love and loss, we accompany the dying with presence, and we meet trauma from a place of embodied wisdom. I believe in building a culture where we depathologize healing for both ourselves and the collective.

MY STORY

Hello, I’m Valenca.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), trauma therapist, and grief & end-of-life counselor, educator, and consultant. My work is rooted in ancestral wisdom and grounded in a decolonizing, grief-informed, and trauma-aware approach to healing. I support people navigating grief, trauma, and life transitions through relational and somatic care.

In addition to therapy, I offer education, consultation, and ritual work while weaving together nervous system care, storytelling, and community healing. As a death doula and life-cycle celebrant, I hold space for ceremony, meaning-making, and the sacred thresholds of life and death.

I offer this work as a way to restore connection, reclaim meaning, and help build a more grief-literate and compassionate world.

    Through Raven & Rose Celebrant Services, I work with you to co-create a special ceremony that will honor your loved one and tend to your grief. We can honor any major life transition with Ceremony and intention to help mark the profound change in your life.

    Raven & Rose educates you and your family through the threshold of dying. Helping to ease worry by normalizing the process and teaching what to expect.

    Recording your story, your wisdom, or an ethical will is a gift to yourself and your family.

    Raven & Rose helps to create a peaceful and sacred space for the last moments of your loved one’s life. End-of-Life Rituals can help you to find grounding and guidance through this Liminal time.
